Training and Artistic Lineage

Deepa began learning Andhranatyam at the age of 5 under Padmasri Bharatakalaprapoorna Acharya Dr. Nataraja Ramakrishna. She later trained in Kuchipudi with Natya Visaradha Mallika Ramprasad and Devarakonda Srinivas. She was also fortunate to train at Kuchipudi Art Academy (Chennai) under the guidance of Padmabhushan Guru Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam.

Performance Journey

Across India, the UK, and international stages, Deepa has performed in more than 500 solo dance and ballet productions. She has received strong appreciation from judges in UK dance festivals, particularly for abhinaya-rich pieces such as Bhama Kalapam, Shabdams, and Tarangam.

She also portrayed lead roles in dramas presented by Andhra Balananda Sangham (India), and won several state and local competitions representing both Andhra Balananda Sangham and Andhra Pradesh state cultural platforms. One of her highly appreciated lead roles was Yashodha in Krishnam Kalayasakhi Sundaram, performed with her Guru Mallika Ramprasad.

Choreography, Research, and Teaching

Deepa has expanded into choreography and research to explore creative dimensions of classical dance while preserving traditional integrity. Her vision is to continue learning deeply and to spread Kuchipudi across the United Kingdom through sustained teaching and cultural outreach.

She conducts workshops and regular dance classes for adults and young children in England, including Dunstable, Luton, Milton Keynes, and East Ham.
